The Outbrain finance team is responsible for the financial management of Outbrain across the globe (including US and UK being the largest regions). The Accounts Payable Team Lead will play a key role in ensuring the maintenance and integrity of certain account ledgers with a heavy focus on the Accounts Payable function. This role will report directly to the Accounts Payable Manager and represents a great opportunity to gain experience in many aspects of a finance department in a rapidly growing digital organisation.

 A day in the life

• Supervise the team of Accounts Payable Assistants on a day to day basis, meeting SLA’s
• Take ownership of the teams Check In’s, performance reviews and appraisals
• Manage invoice mailboxes on a daily basis
• Coding AP invoices and posting into Netsuite for some EU entities
• Process PO backed and csv upload invoices for Publishers via Netsuite and Non-Publishers via COUPA
• Maintain a high level of Customer Service with internal and external stakeholders on resolving queries with regards to statements and overdue invoices
• Weekly review and follow up on unapproved invoices and unreceipted PO’s in COUPA
• Managing unpaid invoices and organising bills due to be paid
• Reviewing of accounts payable ageing in Netsuite and COUPA
• Preparing weekly payment runs in multiple currencies through COUPA Pay and Tipalti
• Review and Approve Concur expenses and Amex transactions in line with the expenses Policy
• Understanding of UK/EU countries VAT, and US W9 & 1099 procedures.
• Preparation of monthly accruals to assist with the local accountants reporting
• Assisting with the year end audit
• Assisting in testing of system upgrades and automation projects
• Handling other ad hoc tasks within finance when required

What you’ll bring

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant AP experience & people management
• Experience working with Netsuite, COUPA and Tipalti, or another accounting system
• Basic accounting knowledge of prepayments/accruals/fixed assets
• Forensic attention to detail
• Highly organised and self-motivated
• Strong Microsoft Excel and IT skills
• Effective communication skills
• Proactive attitude – ability to take initiative to get things done
• Be motivated with an eye for process improvement

Nice to have

• Good quality degree in relevant discipline or AAT qualified
• Experience of working with advertising, marketing, or media agencies would be preferable
