As a Credit Analyst within Outbrain, you will play a crucial role in assessing and evaluating the creditworthiness of individuals, businesses, and organizations across the globe. You will analyze financial data, review credit histories, and make informed decisions to determine the level of risk associated with extending credit. Your expertise will help ensure that Outbrain’s practices are prudent and aligned with established policies and guidelines.
This role has a direct reporting line to Head of Credit and Collections, based in London.
A day in the life
Financial Analysis:
Collect and review financial statements, tax returns, and other relevant documents to evaluate creditworthiness.
Analyze financial data to assess the financial health, cash flow, profitability, and risk profile of applicants.
Identify trends, patterns, and potential risks in financial statements to determine creditworthiness.
Credit Evaluation:
Assess creditworthiness by evaluating credit scores, credit reports, and credit histories of individuals or businesses (using Salesforce and NetSuite).
Assist in setting credit limits for new and existing customers.
Risk Assessment:
Conduct risk assessments and evaluate the probability of default and potential losses.
Monitor and analyze credit portfolios to identify early warning signs of potential delinquencies or defaults.
Credit Policy Adherence:
Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Participate in the development and implementation of credit policies and guidelines.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to credit analysis and risk management.
Communication and Reporting:
Prepare detailed credit reports and recommendations based on analysis and findings.
Communicate credit decisions and provide explanations to internal stakeholders
Others:
Assist with Collections portfolio if needed
Assist with audit requests
Ad-hoc projects as needed
What you’ll bring
Previous experience as a credit analyst or in a similar role within a financial institution
Good understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial analysis techniques
Knowledge of credit risk assessment methodologies and credit scoring models
Ability to adjust priorities quickly under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
Flexibility within a constantly changing environment
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and interacting with key stakeholders
Ability to cooperate and collaborate effectively with team members
Effective communication skills
Proactive attitude – ability to take initiative to get things done
Possess strong Microsoft Excel and IT skills
Be motivated with an eye for process improvement
Experience of working with advertising/marketing agencies would be preferable
Experience of working with Salesforce would be a plus
